Name or Title?
I find that I’m extremely particular about which objects should have a ‘title’ and which should have a ‘name’. Spending the better part of my day writing database-backed web applications, this comes up frequently.
Objects I give names:- Section
- Category
- Tag
- Event
- Person
- Place
- File
- Page
- Blog Post
- Relationship
- Job
- Website
I’m not sure I can identify a reason, but one always feels right, and the other wrong.
Am I crazy?

I found myself pondering this exact same subject this afternoon. It seems to me that a title carries a connotation of status, whereas a name is a mere identifier. Anyway, I’m glad I’m not the only person thinking about this stuff.

I usually just use name, it’s a form of convention.
A person also might have a title like “Phd” or “Sir” so it should have both. Anyway, I don’t think it really matters that much, thats why we have ‘alias’ at our disposal :)
